How these numbers were made

  • Calculated from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) per-100 g values and the listed quantities.
  • *Per 100 g of combined raw ingredients; the cooked dish may weigh more or less.
  • Optional ingredients are not included: lemon.
  • Ice: Frozen water; same composition as water.
  • “—” means the value isn’t known for enough of the ingredients; it is never zero by default.

Good to know

Tips

  • Add the syrup gradually and taste — strawberries vary in sweetness.

Common mistakes

  • Adding hot syrup to the strawberry purée — it cooks the fruit and dulls the colour; cool it first.

Food safety

  • Homemade syrup should be kept in a clean, covered jar in the fridge.

Storage

  • Keeps 3 days in the fridge; the simple syrup alone keeps 2–3 weeks refrigerated.
