Our story

Built for friends. Open to the world.

FriendsPantry began as a way to help our friends cook — swap recipes, plan the week, find something good to make with what’s in the cupboard. Then we thought: why stop at our friends? So we opened it to everyone, and kept the friendship part.

The honest bit

Why are we charging $0?

Because good food should not come with a monthly invoice. We built FriendsPantry so friends could find, learn and cook great food together — and you can’t really gather people around the table if the recipe is behind a paywall.

If you have just spent an evening perfecting a Chettinad chicken, you have already paid. In onions, in patience, and in roasted-spice smoke alarms.

So keep your money for the things that actually matter: good tomatoes, fresh coriander, and the extra butter. Always the extra butter.

Is FriendsPantry really free?

Really. Every feature works for everyone, and there is nowhere to pay even if you wanted to.

Is there a free trial?

No. A trial would need something to turn into. This just stays free.

Do I need a credit card?

No card. Not even an account. A spoon is recommended.

Then why are there three plans?

Because pricing pages have three plans, and we didn’t want to feel left out. They describe how seriously you take dinner, not what you can use.

Will the pricing change in future?

Everything is free today and there is nothing to pay for. If that ever changed, we’d say so clearly first.
