How these numbers were made

  • Calculated from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) per-100 g values and the listed quantities.
  • *Per 100 g of combined raw ingredients; the cooked dish may weigh more or less.
  • Optional ingredients are not included: lemon juice, ice.
  • “—” means the value isn’t known for enough of the ingredients; it is never zero by default.

Good to know

Tips

  • No juicer? Blend everything with 150 ml cold water, then strain through a fine sieve, pressing on the pulp.
  • Nutrition is calculated from the whole fruit and vegetables; pressed juice keeps most of the sugars but loses much of the fibre.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving the white pith thick on the oranges, which turns the juice bitter.

Storage

  • Fresh juice is best within an hour; it keeps covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours but loses colour and vitamin C.

Variations

  • With turmeric: Add a small piece of fresh turmeric root with the ginger.
