How these numbers were made

  • Calculated from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) per-100 g values and the listed quantities.
  • *Per 100 g of combined raw ingredients; the cooked dish may weigh more or less.
  • Optional ingredients are not included: chia seeds, ice.
  • “—” means the value isn’t known for enough of the ingredients; it is never zero by default.

Good to know

Tips

  • Frozen berries make it cold and thick without diluting it with ice.
  • Very ripe strawberries add enough sweetness that no sweetener is needed.

Common mistakes

  • Putting yogurt in first so the blades spin in air — liquid at the bottom blends faster.

Serve with

  • Pair with a slice of wholemeal toast for a fuller breakfast.

Storage

  • Best fresh; it keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 12 hours (shake before drinking).

Variations

  • Raspberry-vanilla: Swap the strawberries for raspberries and add a drop of vanilla.
