How these numbers were made

  • Calculated from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) per-100 g values and the listed quantities.
  • *Per 100 g of combined raw ingredients; the cooked dish may weigh more or less.
  • Optional ingredients are not included: sugar, heavy cream.
  • Ice: Frozen water; same composition as water.
  • “—” means the value isn’t known for enough of the ingredients; it is never zero by default.

Good to know

Tips

  • Melting the chocolate in hot espresso first is essential: cold milk alone leaves it in hard specks.

Common mistakes

  • Pouring hot espresso with chocolate straight onto the ice before stirring — it sets in streaks.

Storage

  • Make to order and drink straight away; milk foam collapses and coffee loses its aroma within minutes.

Variations

  • Blended iced mocha: Blend everything with the ice for a frappé-style drink.
