How these numbers were made

  • Calculated from USDA FoodData Central (SR Legacy) per-100 g values and the listed quantities.
  • *Per 100 g of combined raw ingredients; the cooked dish may weigh more or less.
  • “—” means the value isn’t known for enough of the ingredients; it is never zero by default.

Good to know

Tips

  • Dress just before serving so the cabbage stays crunchy.

Common mistakes

  • Boiling the chicken hard, which makes it dry and stringy — poach at a bare simmer and let it finish in the water.
  • Dressing the salad too early; the cabbage wilts and the peanuts soften.

Serve with

  • Serve with a bowl of rice porridge (cháo gà) made with the poaching liquid, as Vietnamese families often do.

Storage

  • Keep undressed components refrigerated up to 2 days.
